Locations, brings together Robert Ziebell’s photographic images of the vernacular architecture and natural wonders of the Keweenaw in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, where he has resided part time for over thirty years. The term locations refers to worker housing originally built by mining companies, which have been transformed over the years with an idiosyncratic array of styles and materials. Small photographs on canvas of these structures are interspersed with large-scale prints of the rugged landscapes of Lake Superior which surround the former mining towns.

Robert Ziebell has worked as a lens-based artist in diverse media for over 35 years. His film, video and photography have been shown and supported by the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, the Dallas Museum of Art, the Contemporary Arts Museum, Houston, the Film Center at the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Andy Warhol Foundation among others.

The Michael and Noémi Neidorff Art Gallery serves the Trinity University and San Antonio communities by presenting a wide variety of visual media that contributes to an ongoing dialogue in the visual arts. The gallery programming supports the mission of the Department of Art and Art History by providing a venue for contemporary exhibitions that complement course content. Gallery programming regularly features work by students, faculty, as well as curated exhibitions by nationally and internationally recognized artists.
