Havana doesn’t wait for anyone; neither does the rest of Cuba. Crumbling façades in impossible color, salsa spilling out of doorways, vintage cars idling next to satellite dishes, a country that feels like five decades happening at once. It’s magnetic. It pulls you back. It pulled us back twenty times over ten years, between the three of us.

Rudy Gonzalez, a Pulitzer Prize–winning photojournalist, brings the eye of someone who has spent a career finding truth in a single frame. Ayash Basu, an avid visual storyteller, brings a narrative instinct, building images into arcs that carry you past one moment into a fuller story. Nick Berard, a working commercial photographer, brings a director’s eye for light and composition, framing each scene to pull you in and hold you there.

Forty photographs. One Island. Three points of view shown side by side, because Cuba isn’t one story, it’s many, happening at once. Come see all of them.

As a portrait photographer, my latest obsession is capturing hummingbirds mid flight. With the camera I can capture details that are impossible to catch with the naked eye. These magnificent birds exist in a high-speed world entirely separate from ours, yet they visit us often. Have you ever been curious about the fine details of hummingbird feathers or the shape of their tails? Come see this show, which celebrates their athleticism, beauty, and charm.

The Greater New Braunfels Photography Club is proud to present its 2026 Fall Exhibition, My Favorite Photo, as part of FOTOSEPTIEMBRE 2026. Each year, the club selects a new exhibition theme to showcase the creativity, skill, and personal vision of its members. This year’s theme invites each photographer to share one image that holds special meaning to them –whether because of the story behind it, the technical challenge it represents, the emotion it captures, or simply because it remains one of their personal favorites.

The exhibition features a wide range of photographic images that reflect the individual styles, interests, and experiences of local photographers. It includes landscapes, wildlife, portraits, travel, documentary images and creative works –all celebrating the beauty of the photographic image and the personal connection each artist has with their chosen work.  Each image reflects a moment, a memory, a challenge, or a creative achievement that has stayed with the photographer. The result is an exhibition filled with variety, meaning, and strong visual storytelling.

The artist meet-and-greet on September 20 is a wonderful chance for the community to connect directly with local photographic artists, hear about their creative process, and celebrate the outstanding artwork being produced by members of the Greater New Braunfels Photography Club.
