Mientras Vagaba Por La CDMX – While Wandering Through Mexico City is a photographic exhibition that explores Mexico City through three distinct bodies of work: While Wandering Through El Deh Effeh, Chilango Subconscious, and The Street Is A Museum (CDMX).

Rooted in the experience of living in Mexico City, the exhibition reflects a particular way of seeing, one shaped by wandering, observation, and an openness to the unexpected. Moving through the streets without a predetermined destination, the photographer encounters the city in its most spontaneous and intimate moments, transforming everyday observations into visual narratives.

Ordinary objects, fragments of architecture, and memories are photographed with intimacy and curiosity, revealing unexpected identities and layers of meaning within the urban landscape. What might initially appear mundane becomes a window into the character of the city. The resulting images are authentic and deeply personal, capturing the vitality, contradictions, humor, and surrealism that permeate Mexico City. Together, these three bodies of work form an evolving portrait of a city that is constantly in motion, where the everyday becomes extraordinary, and where the street itself becomes both subject and museum.–Faustinus Deraet
