“The pandemic and quarantine have obviously created many challenges for all of us. However, it has also afforded us the rare opportunity to slow down and take a closer look at our surroundings. With drastically more time on my hands at home, I have taken to photographing the wonderful small world in my backyard. Photographing bugs, lizards, and other miniature wildlife has brought me great joy and calm during this tumultuous time. Looking through the lens at these life forms and their ecosystems has served as a reminder of how fragile, beautiful, complex, and resilient our natural world can be.”
