Somos San Antonio – We Are San Antonio : If Gardens Could Talk…

Somos San Antonio – We Are San Antonio is a special FOTOSEPTIEMBRE USA exhibition celebrating the city, its residents and its places. For 2015, the exhibition will focus on gardens and garden features in San Antonio that speak to us. The best and most original entries will be selected for a one-day garden exhibition at Villa Finale Museum & Gardens located at 401 King William Street on Thursday, September 3, 5:30 to 7:30 pm. The reception will be a garden social complete with light music, beverages, and food for sale.

All San Antonio residents of any age are eligible to submit photographs. Up to four entries per person. Not all will be selected.

No submission fee required.

You can submit photos electronically to sgonzalez@savingplaces.org. Include the title(s) of your photograph(s), where taken, and a sentence describing why the subject of your photo is meaningful. Photos must be in JPEG format.

You can also mail a CD/DVD with your photographs (JPEGs only) to:

Submissions Criteria

• Photographs may be current or past, as long as they fit the theme of the exhibition. Older or vintage photographs must also be clear enough to be enlarged to 11×14 inches and have copyright ownership by the person entering the exhibition. Older photographs not fitting this criteria are not eligible.

• Subjects photographed must complete the title of the exhibition: If Gardens Could Talk… What speaks to you about a garden? It could be statuary, animals or people, Be creative! Subjects photographed must be in San Antonio.

A panel of judges will select photographs based on originality and creativity. Selected photographers will be contacted via phone or email (please provide your contact information). Photographers must sign a release form, allowing the photographs to be displayed and used for publicity purposes, if selected for the exhibition.

Deadlines & Dates

August 17, 2015 – submission deadline
August 21, 2015 – selected photographs will be chosen and photographers contacted
September 3, 2015 – Somos San Antonio one-day exhibition and garden social (5:30 – 7:30 pm)
