Clamp Light Studios & Gallery presents Lunch with Elsa 1924 – 1933, a collaborative exhibit of artists Brianna Burnett and Kimberly Rumfelt. As part of Foto Septiembre USAâ, works will be photographic and mixed media. The exhibition tells the story of friendship and family through the eyes of one woman’s journal. The artists found almost 10 years of daily entries from personal journals covering 1924 to 1933 and have created work in response to it.
Brianna Burnett received her MFA in photography from Texas Tech University in 2008. Her work is rooted in the act of storytelling and interpretation of narratives. Kimberly Rumfelt gained her MFA in ceramics at East Carolina University in 2009 where she developed work inspired by the domestic and its objects. Together the two artists have combined their knowledge and research of the human condition and developed a body of work inspired by another time and an intriguing story.
