Faces And Places Around The World is a celebration of human spirit and the magic that lives in the everyday. Homes in Seoul, temples in Thailand, studios in Paris, parking garages in Dubai, and the alleys of Istanbul; these images reflect the soulful, unexpected moments that can only be seen when you’re truly present. I believe magic doesn’t require perfect lighting or exotic locations. It exists everywhere –in a glance, a laugh, a crack of sunlight; and my work is about capturing that presence, that pulse. Whether it’s a portrait of a stranger in Morocco, a dancer in Tokyo, or a painter in Los Angeles, I photograph more than faces, I photograph energy, emotion, transformation. My style is bold, sensual, and deeply human. I’m drawn to color, confidence, and raw femininity. I create images that linger, that reveal not just how someone looks, but who they are, or who they might become. –Gisela Prishker

The Greater New Braunfels Photography Club’s 2025 Fall Exhibition, Travel, is a collaborative event hosted by the Greater New Braunfels Photography Club and the Greater New Braunfels Art Council. This exhibition showcases some of the Club’s best photographic works from regional and local artists. When a photograph captures our attention it’s because the artist often uses specific elements to evoke emotion and guide the viewer’s eye, such as a compelling subject, storytelling through the image, dynamic use of color, or an overall composition that creates a particular mood or feeling.

This exhibition of recent work by photographers in the Blue Star Arts Collective invites viewers into a dynamic and intimate conversation about identity, vulnerability, and creative truth. True To Form showcases photographers who turn the lens inward –whether literally or metaphorically– to explore the evolving landscape of the authentic self. The photographs range from self-portraiture and staged narratives to documentary and experimental processes, each revealing personal truths, shifting identities, or inner transformations. Some confront cultural heritage, gender, or aging; others reflect quiet moments of introspection or the messy beauty of everyday life.

To be seen is to be loved. CIty Seen is a love letter to San Antonio. The artists’ passion for their hometown is demonstrated in the images they capture while going about their everyday lives. They are particularly inspired by the intersection of the built environment and the natural world. Firmly rooted in place, City Seen (1) – Southtown is the inaugural show in a series. It features unexpected images of the King William, Lavaca, and Lone Star neighborhoods.

Centro Cultural Aztlan is proud to present Celebrating Latino Culture And Community, a photography exhibition curated by Dr. Ricardo Romo. Over the years, photography has served as a powerful tool for preserving the history, identity, and spirit of San Antonio’s Latino community. The images of the Celebrating Latino Culture And Community exhibit at the Centro Cultural Aztlan capture everyday life, important events, and cultural traditions –tangible and intangible– creating a visual archive that complements written records. Iconic images of social movements, migrations, and daily experiences shape public memory and deepen understanding. Photographs in this exhibit also document fleeting moments –festivals, rituals, and personal expressions– offering insight into community values and identity. By making these aspects visible and relatable, photography connects insiders and outsiders alike to the richness of our Latino story.

My work is a commentary on today’s world, our relationships, and the nature of our social order. I use mixed media, light, installation and traditional materials to create photo-based sculptures. I like taking my photographs into the three-dimensional world and making them unique art objects. –Joan Frederick

Trouble In Southtown evokes intrigue. It encourages the public to take a peek at neighborhood snapshots stolen with the intent of being shared. The exhibit is about photographers interpreting Trouble. Good Trouble, Making Trouble, and There-Goes-The-Neighborhood Trouble. You can find it all in Southtown San Antonio. Trouble invites change. But the meaning of Trouble changes over time, as is apparent in Southtown itself, which has palpably shifted in the (short) decade I have been blessed to be a resident. These photographers are themselves local characters. Not only inhabiting the scene but documenting their points of view from within it. Participants become historians, valiantly battling oblivion from behind the lens. Many thanks to Enzminger Studio at 1906 for sharing their space, and allowing fellow troublemakers to share their work. Trouble is of vital importance at this time. —R.E. Foerster with Ann Enzminger

Enzminger Studio At 1906 in San Antonio is the working space of multidisciplinary artist Ann Enzminger, where she develops projects in painting, fiber art, and public art. The studio also hosts exhibitions and collaborations, offering an accessible platform for other artists to share their work.

Presence And Impermanence is a photographic meditation on the body, the natural world and the cycles that hold them both. Using cyanotype to depict Yoginis and Van Dyke Brown to render flora, both Deborah and Ramin work with historical, 19th century processes that echo the themes of the work—fragility, transformation, and the traces left behind. Deborah’s images utilizing the cool blues of cyanotypes suggest spirit, sky, and breath while Ramin’s warm sepia Van Dyke Brown tones recall earth, roots and decay. Through these elemental palettes, the artists explore how we inhabit the present moment while remaining tethered to inevitable change. Each print is a gesture toward stillness, an offering to what is passing and a record of what remains.
